So I have returned from vacation. The most popular quote to date seems to be that I now need another vacation to recover from the first one.
As we set out on our journey one of my children exclaimed when getting up at 4:30 a.m. this is just like a dream… A dream it was.
The trip itself was pretty amazing. We visited a place that has over 66 000 cast members. More people than the city I come from. This magical place really knows how to do it. They are the bar to which everything is measured by. The amount of money required to produce the daily and nightly spectacles is staggering. Only dwarfed by the amount of money that is taken in daily!
We stayed at their resort…one of the 17 resorts. Enjoyed one of the four theme parks, didn’t do any of the two water parks. Eat with their meal plan. Thank god it was included for free. IF someone goes there and says they are bored…well your working at being bored really.
It was amazing, truly.
We had some very fun memories included a serious discussion as to the cheesecake at a well known restaurant actually having cheese in it. Than the request for it without any cheese. YES, at times we all got a little tired.
But the hard parts of the trip will soon fade from memory. As we all discussed the up’s and downs and how much work it was another quote surfaced. “it’s like being pregnant. Afterward you never remember how much work it is or how much work babies are till after you have the next one.”
So until the next family trip.
Upon our return we took a week to get our barrings back and settle into our normal routine to have that disrupted by the start of the school year. The oldest has started that journey and so far so good it’s a positive experience. I was told this morning as I walked them to the school bus. “You don’t have to stay an wait….” and upon their arrival off the school bus. “tomorrow I can walk myself.”
Now, I am starting to feel old :D.
